Community Challenge 2004

What a unique opportunity. To place a lasting impression in the lives of children. The Tulsa Chapter took up that challenge and ran with it! Contacts were made and a bounty of talent was found in Dianne Rusher, a local artist. Dianne volunteered her talent to our 2004 CCW project by spending time with some of the children at Anderson Elementary, interviewing them and getting a feel for what makes Anderson special to them. Armed with that information, Dianne designed a mural with the children in mind.. Once the mural was designed and approved it was transferred to the wall of one of the school's main corridors. Worker bees (Judy Anderson, Mary Chastain, Sherri Dawson, Andrea Everage, Judi Haley, Floris Hills, Dana Krauss, Greg Madden, Susan Miller, and Rene Pyron) set to work painting in the transfer. Dianne Rusher came in to inspect and give our work some extra polish. What an exciting time! Hopefully, these pictures will give you a glimpse of the joy the children of Anderson Elementary School will surely experience every time they pass by this wonderful work of art!
